Why Ingredients Matter
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the average woman uses 12 products, containing 168 different chemicals daily. Most of these chemicals have been linked to significant health issues:
  • 60% chemicals can act like estrogen or disrupt hormones
  • 45% chemicals harmful to the reproductive system of baby’s development
  • 33% chemicals  linked to cancer
Dermatologists are finding a growing number of people, more than half, claim to have sensitive skin caused by exposure to the toxic environment, and stress.

As a result, 80% of the ingredients we supply have a comedogenic rating of 3 and below allowing us to produce products that are safe for everyone
Carrier Oils "The Base"

Carrier oils are used to dilute the essential oils and help "carry" them into the skin. Unlike essential oils, they do not evaporate. Carrier oils are assigned comedogenic rating and that is the likelihood of that ingredient/product causing or exacerbating acne prone skin. Any such ingredient that will actually "cause" acne is called a Comedogenic.
Here is the rating scale:
0 - won’t clog pores at all | 1 - very low likelihood of clogging pores | 2 - moderately low likelihood | 3 - moderate likelihood 4 - fairly high likelihood | 5 - high likelihood of clogging pores

Essential Oils "The Enhancers"

Essential oils are highly concentrated compounds extracted from plants. They have not yet been shown to be comedogenic. Essential oils cannot be used alone as hair or skincare product and must be mixed with a carrier oil. They can however be used pure for use in diffuses for aromatherapy
